Welcome to The Editorial Apothecary!

I’m Julian. I have been a lover of words and writing since childhood and my passion is in helping other writers find their own voice and style and supporting them in their creative writing endeavors. My main areas of interest are in the Fiction genre, especially under the Science Fiction and Fantasy umbrellas—folklore and magical realism are particular favorites of mine. My background in crisis work and psychology has also equipped me for handling sensitive and emotionally-intense works dealing with trauma and mental illness. 

I have trained through the Editorial Freelance Association (EFA) and am a Proofread Anywhere general course graduate. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Creative Writing and Psychology. I have gained hands-on experience through volunteer work for Project Gutenberg as well as providing free beta reading services in the Fiction genre. I live in Wisconsin with my two cats—Spock and Auri—and am an avid student of herbalism and folk magic, both of which fuel my passion for connecting with the natural world. I enjoy reading books that inform and shift my perception of the world around me alongside many, many hot mugs of earl gray and chamomile, and I practice my amateur fiber art while enraptured in audiobooks.
